If you can, go see the film “An Inconvenient Truth” - it spells out what is “inconvenient” for our children’s children! Atmospheric carbon dioxide concentration has varied in a range of 180 to 280ppm for 400,000+ years thru 4 warming to glacial/cooling cycles. Now, 2006, it is at 379 ppm! CO2 is the major culprit in warming our atmosphere. Every cooling cycle has been directly related to a CO2 reduction to around 180ppm and every warming cycle has had an increase in CO2 levels to around 280ppm. I am dumbfounded as to why our politicians seem to think this evidence is debatable - it’s not “If we caused it”, that’s obvious or “If we can stop or reverse it” - it’s done. Now connect the dots - IT IS DONE - the consequences are on the way - and we cannot stop or effectively reduce them. It just takes time now - to begin experiencing consequences we can’t even imagine. Our collective “goose” is already par boiled if not completely cooked. So future generations have some real life & death problems to face thanks to their previous generations - US! I know, today is fine and maybe I’m making a mountain out of a mole hill - but I just don’t think so is you look at the long term - our children and grand children’s lifetimes.
